Vision Quest

I trekked through rocks of tritium and glass,
Flowing in the wake of ancient sea bed,
When behind a soldier pine, a Wiseman met,
Clad in stark shining stars – he said alas,
“You, whose heart has spawned in rough ripple redd,
Put your ear to the dust of shattered lead,
For I have wandered through the thick morass
Crawled and soared into Mars’ deep crevasse
And have found nothing more than tears all dead.
Hear. Quake beneath your guile and gilded soles,
Left cracked and tumbled towers. See ahead.”
All remained. Stars fell to valley below.
Splinters and leaves hung in fog thin as thread,
And I, amidst the gravity – aglow.
